Working model of a maglev train?

Hi guys!
Can anyone tell me how to make a model of a maglev train that works?
We have a mega science fair coming up and it would be really cool if I could do this.

I found this and it helped, but it needs to look better…the working there’s kinda shabby.

I need it to look better(without the pencil)

I can make a model of a train and tracks and stuff, but how do i make it levitate and it possible, move back and forth??

Please answer soon, and thanks for your help!
:)

Go to Google and search for “magnetic levitation demonstration.”

Unfortunately, you will learn that magnetic levitation is not easy to achieve. For most practical applications (e.g., trains) it requires a sophisticated active control system. Not something that you’ll be likely to whip up in time for the science fair if you don’t already know how to do it.

If you can learn how to safely handle liquid nitrogen, and if the science fair will allow you to use it, then you could demonstrate superconducting magnetic levitation. Go again to google and type the same search, but add the word, “superconducting.” You can buy everything you need in kit form (except for the liquid nitrogen) if you look around in Google.

One way to get the amount of liquid nitrogen that you need is to bring a thermos bottle (the old-school, glass-lined kind is best) to a welding supply shop. If you can convince them that you know how safely handle the stuff, then they may fill it for you for a couple of dollars. Or, if you can beg some off of somebody who works with the stuff in a lab somewhere… Once again, Google is your friend. Search for “liquid nitrogen” and “thermos” and “safety” and see what turns up.
